Q. What is the Audit Screen Extended Service Plan? Audit Screen Extended Service Plan is a warranty that protects qualifying tax returns from any preparer’s errors or miscalculations found during an audit. Audit Screen will provide you with up to $2,500 to cover any additional taxes, penalties, interest or fees evaluated by the IRS.


Q. What does it cost? Audit Screen is a fee of $44.95 and protects your qualifying tax return for up to three years from the due date of the return.


Q. What is included in the Audit Screen Extended Service Plan? (1) Certificate of Coverage: To itemize 1040 period of coverage (2) Audit Screen Communication Organization: Staff will assist the customer by reviewing and organizing all communications initiated by the IRS or State Department of Revenue (3) Audit Screen Audit Preparation: Assist the customer in preparing for an IRS or DOR audit.


Q. What returns qualify for Audit Screen? The Audit Screen Extended Service Plan is not available in Alaska, Arkansas, Connecticut, Idaho, Maine, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Puerto Rico, Rhode Island and Tennessee. Returns containing Schedule C, E, of F will not qualify for Audit Screen.


Q. How do I know whether my return qualifies? If you are interested in purchasing Audit Screen, your tax preparation software will be able to determine whether your return qualifies based on the type of return and the state you reside.


Q. What do I have to do to make a claim? In order to qualify for Audit Screen you must notify Audit Screen Management Services within 70 days after receiving any notice from the IRS or DOR regarding any return covered under Audit Screen. Within 5 days of receiving any notice from the IRS or DOR, you must provide Audit Screen Management Services with legible copies of the notice. You must provide Audit Screen with at least 21 days prior notice of the audit hearings, agree to our representation policies, and promptly provide Audit Screen Management Services with a copy of your Certificate of Coverage. Q. How long does it take to process a claim? After you submit your claim form, TRX will review your claim and notify you whether your claim is eligible for reimbursement.


Q. If I am audited, will an Audit Screen representative attend? If your return is audited we reserve the right to choose a tax professional to represent you. Audit Screen Management Services will attend one audit hearing, whether in person or electronic means, with the IRS or the DOR.
